Kolkata, Nov 22 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister and ruling Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Thursday slammed the BJP-led Centre, accusing the saffron brigade of setting up the central probe agencies against her party leaders and ministers, saying she does not believe they did anything wrong.

Addressing the party workers at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, Banerjee, while stressing the party line for gearing up

for the 2024 Lok Sabha poll, predicted that the existing Union government would last for only next three months.

" After what will happen to the BJP leaders of those who are now setting the central probe agencies against the opposition leaders? " Banerjee, asked.

Banerjee was very critical of the BJP leaders and opined that they should not 'use' the colour saffron and should avoid 'saffronisation' as it is the colour of 'tyagis' but they are 'bhogis'.

She for the first time raised the issue of her party MP Mahua Moitra and questioned the alleged attempts to expel her from the Lok Sabha, and said it would rather brighten her chance to return to Parliament in the 2024 national election.

TMC already elevated Moitra as the president of Krishnanagar (north) recently, from where she was elected in 2019.

TMC chairperson Mamata Banerjee accused the ruling party for the defeat of India in the final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the Men's World Cup.

" India won all matches in the World Cup except the one attended by 'sinners', " she said adding, " If the final was held either in Kolkata or Wankhede the country would surely win the cup, "

She was also critical of donning saffron colour jersey during practice for Team India.

The chief minister said the BJP leaders were trying to do away with the reservations and asserted that she will oppose it tooth and nail.

"BJP is also against the reservation for minorities, but we will bring them under the system through OBC quota, " Banerjee said.

She lambasted the Centre for alleged growing unemployment in the country and said the economy was allegedly taking a nosedive under the present government.

The Banking sector was also in chaos and the profit making PSUs were being sold, the TMC leader alleged.
